“MACCLESFIELD MEANS BUSINESS” FOR TOWN CENTRE REGENERATION

Macclesfield Means Business, the recently-formed local business group that works to promote the voice of business in and around the town, was joined at one of its regular meetings recently by local MP, David Rutley, to review the ongoing proposals to help regenerate Macclesfield town centre. The group is keen to play a more active role in supporting the town centre regeneration agenda. At the meeting, which was held at longstanding Macclesfield business Arighi Bianchi and chaired by Ms Kay Stevenson of Orbit Developments, David updated members of the group on the range of initiatives being taken forward to promote the clear economic potential of Macclesfield, and discussed the vital support that the local business community can provide in helping to accelerate plans to regenerate Macclesfield town centre. David was also pleased to have the opportunity to meet with representatives from some of the many local businesses present at the meeting, and to learn more about the group’s exciting and dynamic plans to build quality connections with key businesses and other decision makers in the town.  The group aims to connect Macclesfield’s diverse business community through regular networking events with accompanying tailored content, providing local businesses with practical advice and support on how to grow and expand, and a platform for the business community to work with other local stakeholders to promote the many commercial opportunities available in Macclesfield. Members have their businesses promoted through the group’s online and social media platforms, helping to bring Macclesfield’s clear potential as a business destination to a wider audience at the same time. Macclesfield Means Business was created following research with a small selection of key local businesses to address specific gaps within Macclesfield’s business community. Any business interest in joining the group can make contact either through its website (www.maccmeansbusiness.co.uk/contact) or by telephone on 01625 588 243. Speaking after the event, David said, “Macclesfield has so much to offer as a place to set up and grow a business and I am grateful to Macclesfield Means Business for its ongoing and active endeavours to promote yet more opportunities for local businesses to succeed and help support the local economy. It is also clear that the local business community is committed to supporting the vital work of making our town a more distinctive destination for shopping and services, and I look forward to continuing to keep close to its important work in the months ahead.”
