Help the elderly people in your life stay safe in the heat

As the summer temperatures rise, NHS Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) in Cheshire are asking people to look out for frail and elderly neighbours, family and friends. Dehydration among frail elderly people is leading to increased and unnecessary hospital admissions. Older frail people are more vulnerable to dehydration during hot weather.

Community pharmacies can advise on dehydration and are well stocked to deal with minor ailments and injuries associated with hot weather, such as insect bites or sunburn. If you are feeling unwell and need advice, then NHS 111 is the number to call.
