Sponsored Walk Macc Cricket Club to Wakefield Cricket Club

Former 1st XI Captains, Paul ‘Yoz’ Hughes and Dan Ackerley are completing a long distance walk raising funds for Brain Tumour Research. Stuart Brohaska was the Club’s overseas player in 2005. In 2010, Stuart met his now wife Lydia Carfrae.  Lydia is from Wakefield, Yorkshire and is a beautiful person on the inside and out.  They married in the UK in 2016. Unfortunately, in October 2018 Lydia was diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain tumour called Glioblastoma Multiforme (GMB). Yoz and Dan  will complete a sponsored walk from Macclesfield Cricket Club to Wakefield Cricket Club on the 18th, 19th and 20th February.  They will be supported by another former 1st XI Captain, Simon Ackerley, friends and family. Anybody with connections to Lydia, Stuart or the Cricket Club are welcome to join in whether it be walking one mile on one day or completing all 48 miles over the three days. Anyone who wants to get involved, whether it be with the walk or can offer any kind of assistance, should get in contact with Yoz, Dan or Bod through the Club.
